OUR PURPOSE
Preserve the past.
Play it forward.
Remember recording a favorite song from the radio, carefully labeling a cassette, or choosing a movie from a shelf of videotapes? Tape was never just a medium. It became a part of how people shared music, documented events and made memories.
This website is an independent editorial celebration of audio cassettes, reel-to-reel audio, VHS, Betamax and the machines that play them. We make the technology approachable and encourage thoughtful preservation of recordings worth saving.
Explore format histories, collecting notes and general care guides. The site is intended for enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
